Code of Conduct

1. Our Commitment

We are committed to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, neurodiversity, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, nationality, age, religion (or lack thereof), or any other protected characteristic. We do not tolerate harassment of community members in any form. Sexual language and imagery are not appropriate in any Inception Studio venue, including talks, workshops, social events, and online spaces.

2. Expected Behavior

We ask everyone in our community to:

• Be respectful, considerate, and collaborative toward fellow founders, organizers, and guests;
• Be mindful of your fellow participants' space, privacy, and time;
• Communicate openly and resolve disagreements constructively;
• Take responsibility for your own space and belongings, and help keep shared areas clean — our events are run by volunteers, not professional staff;
• Respect the focused, distraction-light environment of our retreats and give your full attention to your team and projects; and
• Alert organizers if you notice a dangerous situation, someone in distress, or a violation of this Code.

3. Unacceptable Behavior

Harassment and other unacceptable behavior include, but are not limited to:

• Offensive comments or conduct related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, or other protected characteristics;
• Sexualized language or imagery in public spaces, and unwelcome sexual attention or advances;
• Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following;
• Harassing photography or recording;
• Sustained disruption of talks, sessions, or other events;
• Inappropriate or unwelcome physical contact;
• Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behavior; and
• Any behavior that violates the law or the rights of others.

4. Intellectual Property and Shared Work

We expect all participants to honor the intellectual property obligations they have to others (including current or former employers) and not to bring, use, or share materials they do not have the right to use. Any work you create collaboratively during a retreat may be shared among your cohort under the terms described in your Participant Agreement. If you are unsure whether something can be shared, ask an organizer before doing so.

5. Health and Safety

Your wellbeing matters to us. Please look after yourself and one another, follow venue safety guidance, and notify organizers promptly if you feel unwell or unsafe. We will follow applicable public-health guidance for the locations where our events are held, and we may communicate event-specific health requirements in advance of a program.

6. Reporting a Concern

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concern, please contact a member of the Inception Studio team immediately, or email organizers@inceptionstudio.org. All reports will be handled with discretion. You are welcome to report anonymously, though it may limit our ability to respond. We are committed to protecting anyone who reports a concern in good faith from retaliation.

7. Enforcement

Inception Studio reserves the sole right to interpret and enforce this Code of Conduct. Participants asked to stop any unacceptable behavior are expected to comply immediately. We may take any action we deem appropriate — including a warning, removal from an event without refund, exclusion from future programs, or notifying authorities — in response to a violation. By participating, you agree that the organizers have final say on enforcement decisions.

8. Scope

This Code of Conduct applies at all Inception Studio venues and event-related activities, including online communities and social events associated with our programs. It supplements — and does not replace — the terms of any Participant Agreement you sign.
